Wildlife, Documentary & Travel
I’m István Pap, a wildlife photographer and filmmaker with a strong focus on natural history, documentary storytelling, and travel-driven visual work.
My practice is built around patience, observation, and respect for the environments I work in. I’m drawn to real moments — animal behaviour, seasonal change, quiet landscapes — and to telling stories that feel immersive rather than staged. Whether working with still images or motion, my aim is to create visuals that are honest, atmospheric, and grounded in reality.
I work across photography and film, often blending the two to explore rhythm, movement, and mood. My approach is influenced by documentary filmmaking and editorial storytelling, with a strong emphasis on natural light, authentic moments, and a cinematic visual language.
Based in the UK, I regularly work in local and remote locations, believing that meaningful stories can be found both close to home and further afield. I’m interested in contributing to wildlife, natural-history, and travel projects that value craft, curiosity, and a thoughtful connection to place.

People, Stories & Everyday Moments
Alongside my documentary work, I also photograph people and real-life moments — from portraits and families to pets, cars, and events.
My approach here is relaxed and natural. I focus on genuine interaction rather than forced poses, creating images that feel personal, warm, and true to the people (or animals) in front of the camera. Whether it’s a family walk, a portrait session, a beloved pet, or a special occasion, I aim to capture moments that feel effortless and timeless.
I enjoy working with individuals and families who want something honest and meaningful — photographs that reflect real connection, personality, and atmosphere, rather than overly staged imagery.
If my work resonates with you — whether for a project, a collaboration, or a personal story — I’d be happy to hear from you.
If a story is waiting to be told, in the wild or closer to home, I’d love to hear about it.
