Automotive Portrait — Marc & Porsche 944
In spring 2025, I photographed Marc and his Porsche 944 across a series of locations around Brighton. This was the first photoshoot I was directly asked to create for someone else, marking an important step from personal work into client-focused photography.
We worked across hilltops, open roads, and the coastline, letting the environment and spring light shape the mood of the images. Rather than approaching the shoot as a technical car feature, the focus was on character — highlighting the proportions, lines, and presence of the Porsche 944 through considered composition and natural surroundings.
The day was calm and collaborative. We moved between locations without pressure, allowing time to talk through ideas, adjust positioning, and respond to changing light. This shoot was also the first time I consciously worked with composition as a storytelling tool, using framing and perspective to emphasise what makes the car distinctive rather than simply documenting it.
Editing became part of the learning process. I began exploring how colour, contrast, and balance could support atmosphere while keeping the images natural and cohesive. The aim was to create a small, thoughtful series that felt authentic to both the car and its owner.
This project represents a key moment in my development — the point where photography shifted from experimentation into responsibility. It reflects an approach based on collaboration, patience, and attention to detail, laying the foundation for future work with people, vehicles, and families.
